The Purity we use is 99.8 percent silver and sterling that is 92.6 percent silver for stone setting and prongs work. The gold used is 24 karat of gold. So we proudly boast of carrying PURE JEWELRY.
It takes many years of hard work, dedication, passion and patience for a craftsman to master these skills to enhance and maximize the limitless beauty of a piece, may it be stone cutting, polishing or setting, enamel painting or inlay, deep engraving or design lace cutting.
Enameling :
The design is first engraved on the metal surface following which depressions are created. The engraving creates grooves or pits for holding the enamel. Once this engraving is done, the craftsman applies different color with brushes. It is an intricate process which involves fusing colored glass powders on metals. The piece is then placed inside an oven to bake at a very high temperatures of 2000 degrees C which then melts the color and it spreads evenly. The art is then polished with corundum and again placed in fire to consolidate. This whole process takes many hours or even days to complete. This is a very tough and skillful art which is passed on through generations of perfection.
Engraving and Cutwork :
It is a process of making designs on a sheet of gold or silver with a simple chisel and hammer. Again a very skillful form of art which takes many years of diligence and handwork to master because even a slightly harder stroke will ruin everything, so its an master art.
Cutwork is the same process but instead if creating grooves one uses sharper chisels to cut out extras to define a design.
Stone cutting, polishing and setting :
The stones are hand cut and then hand polished. There are two types of of settings, the mount setting and the other one is zarai setting meaning the stone is placed and then sealed on the sides with pure 24 karat gold. This work can only be done with pure 24K gold and not by any of its subordinates.
All our craftsmen are master diamond mounters. They ensure a stone is perfectly positioned, so that light can reflect through it bringing out its best sparkle.
